Top 5 Pro Wrestling Heroes for Kids

When it comes to professional wrestling superstars at the WWE, there can be a lot of bravado and theatre out there. It's a fantasy land of strong personalities and bad-ass ones too.

Whilst the name-calling and slapstick can be hilarious for the adults, when it comes to the younger fans, what is it that makes them tick? Is it the Mr Nice Guy or the Bad-Ass Guy personas that appeals to younger generations? Why is it that kids and teenagers just can't get enough of WWE? Often there is a storyline to follow and the drama coming from these rivalries provides a unique narrative for kids to follow. With the TV-PG rating followed by WWE since 2008 kids are going to naturally be drawn to the pyrotechnics, acrobatics and extraordinary costumes. Out of the visual chaos a few personalities rise up to the level of role model, hero or idol.

Here are a few of the favorites when it comes to pro-wrestling heroes for kids.

Cody Rhodes

A hit with the 2020's generation of kids, owing to his great audience inclusion and fabulous costumes. The "American Nightmare" is the perfect role model for today's WWE younger fans. Taking the mantle from nice-guy John Cena. This is the guy who will inspire a generation of kids to follow in his footsteps, whether in the ring, or as sports commentators.

John Cena

Corny to adults perhaps, but Cena's good character, physical strengths and squeaky clean action figure persona make him a popular choice for kids. He has also appeared in the Hollywood movies such as Fred as well as other internet video series, which gives him a wide appeal. Perhaps not the best wrestler at WWE, but at the end of the day, John Cena is a nice guy and a good guy.

Stone Cold Steve Austin

With his shattering glass entrance music and tough redneck persona what kid could not love this guy? Perhaps the only rival to Hulkmania, his bad-ass attitude was a thrill for teenagers to watch. His Austin 3:16 speech at the 1996 WWF put him right on the map of the "Attitude Era." and one of the most popular wrestlers of all time.

The Rock

One of the icons of 1990s WWE. 90s kids just couldn't get enough of his star power after he made his debut at the Survivor Series in 1997 and went on to win WWE 10 times. His intimidation tactics were a thrall to the younger fans.

Hulk Hogan

An entertainer rather than a wrestler perhaps, the Hulk invented mainstream WWF entertainment when he burst onto the screen back in the 1980s. He remains one of the most recognisable wrestlers of all time. Notwithstanding his charity work, Hogan gave tirelessly to his little Hulkamaniacs and was a role model for a generation of kids. For young viewers watching Hogan picking up Andre the Giant at WrestleMania, he was simply the OG.

These real life action heroes might play their part but for the younger fans they are an inspiration, role model and hero all in one. No wonder so many kids opt for cosplaying their favorite WWE figure at Halloween.
