Known for its natural beauty and urban charms, Oregon is also a great skiing and hiking destination. The stunning caldera at Crater Lake National Park is home to fantastic ski and snowboarding during the winter and Siskiyou National Forest is superb for its hiking trails.

It's at Mount Hood, however, where the true records are set. Standing at 11,239 feet it is the largest mountain in the state and nearby places like Government Camp are where some of the best skiing in Oregon takes place.

In the centre of Oregon the city of Bend is well placed for both skiing at Mount Bachelor, rafting down the Deschutes River or rock climbing on Smith Rock.
